On 23rd December 2019, our Reserve Bank of India released a job notification for recruiting 926 eligible candidates for the post of RBI Assistant in various offices of the Bank throughout India.

Many times, we received queries from job aspirants whenever they get stuck while filling up the application form. Hence we at Sarkari Jobs Today, decided to write a step by step in-depth tutorial on how to fill up RBI assistant Application form online.

Step 1: First, click on the RBI Assistant 2020 online application website link managed by IBPS portal.

Step 2: Next, top right of the website you will see a yellow button saying “Click here for New Registration”

rbi 2020 assistant exam online registration process step 1Step 3: Once you click the yellow button, you will be taken to the 1st page of the application form which will ask you to fill up the following details.

i.) First Name: You are required to fill your first name as per your High School mark sheet and maximum character limit is 35. It is a mandatory field.

ii.) Middle Name: It should be same as in your high school mark sheet and maximum character limit for this 35. If there is no middle name in the mark sheet, then leave it.

iii.) Last Name: It should be same as in your high school mark sheet and maximum character limit for this 35. If there is no last name in the mark sheet, then leave it.

iv.) Mobile number: You have to enter your personal 10 digits mobile number which is frequently used. It is a mandatory field.

v.) Email ID: This field is comprised of two textboxes separated by @ sign. In first Textbox, you have to fill the first part of your Email-Id and in second Textbox, Email service provider is filled that is selected from the drop down list. It is a mandatory field for the admit card download and further formal communication.

vi.) Confirm Email ID: It should match with entry filled in the step (v.) and it is a mandatory field.

Now you have successfully completed the 1st page of the registration process. If you check your mobile & email ID, you would have received an SMS & an email from IBPS portal containing your username & password details. Keep it safely. You will need it later on for downloading your exam call letter or for editing your application form on a later date.

Step 4: Next, you will be taken to the 2nd page, where you need to upload the scanned photograph of the candidate and scanned signature of the candidate. Then click “Next”.

Before uploading your photograph, ensure that its dimension is 200×230(Width x Height) and the file size is between 20KB and 50KB.

Before uploading your signature, ensure that its dimension is 140×60(Width x Height) and the file size is between 10KB and 20KB. Ensure that you write your signature on a white paper using black pen.

TIP: If you are having trouble reducing the size of your photograph & signature, then we recommend you to edit them using an online photo editor website called Pixlr.com via Google Chrome browser. Goto https://pixlr.com/editor/ and then upload the pics and then goto “File” and then click “Save”. Then select your preferable file size and download the pics to your computer.

Step 5: On 3rd page you need to answer the following details like

i.) Category: It is consists of 5 options i.e. SC, ST, OBC, EWS and General. It is a mandatory field and Fee relaxation is also applicable for the respective category. After submission of application, it can’t be further altered.

ii.) Are you a person with benchmark disability of 40% and above ?(Yes/No): If you have any kind of disability, then check on Yes radio button, otherwise go with No Radio button.

Persons with Locomotor disability are those who are unable to execute distinctive activities associated with movement of self and objects resulting from the affliction of the musculoskeletal or nervous system or both including leprosy cured persons, persons suffering from cerebral palsy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy and acid attack victims. The degree of disability should be minimum 40% in these cases.

For being considered as a hearing impaired candidate, the candidate should fulfill either of the following conditions:

(a) Deaf means persons having 70DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears;

(b) Hard of hearing means persons having 60DB to 70DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears.

For being considered as a Visually Impaired candidate, the candidate should fulfill either of the following conditions:

(a) A total absence of sight.

(b) With visual acuity not less than 3/60 or less than 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible correction.

(c) With the limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 10 degrees or worse.

(d) Low vision means a condition where a person has a visual acuity not exceeding 6/18 or less than 20/60 up to 3/60 or up to 10/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible corrections.

(e) Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of fewer than 40 degrees up to 10 degrees.

The Persons with Disability (PWD) candidates should possess a latest Certificate to this effect issued by an authorized Government of India/State Government Department/ Hospital.

Candidates falling in the following categories of the disabled may apply:

OA – One arm affected (Right or Left) –BL – Both legs affected but not arms, OL – One leg affected (Right or Left), PD – Partially deaf, D – Deaf, B – Blind, LV – Low Vision, 4th category as defined under RPWD Act.2016.

iii.) Are you a person with visual impairment ?(Yes/No)

iv.) Are you a person with hearing impairment ?(Yes/No)

v.) Do you need compensatory time at the time of examination ?(Yes/No)

vi.) Are you suffering from cerebral palsy and your writing speed is affected ?(Yes/No)

(a) If Yes, Do you need compensatory time at the time of examination ?(Yes/No)

vii.) Whether your dominant (Writing) hand is affected ?(Yes/No)

(a) If yes, Do you need compensatory time at the time of Examination ?(Yes/No)

viii.) Do You intend to use the services of a scribe ?(Yes/No)

ix.) Are you an Ex-servicemen ?(Yes/No)

x.) Period of Service (in months): – It accepts maximum three digits.

xi.) Date of relief from defence services.

xii.) Are you a dependent of Serviceman killed in action (DXS) ?(Yes/No)

xiii.) Have you joined a Government job on the civil side after availing of the benefits given as an ex-serviceman ?(Yes/No)

xiv.) Have you passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service ?(Yes/No)

xv.) Whether domiciled in State of J&K between 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989 ?(Yes/No)

xvi.) Are you seeking relaxation under widow/ divorced women/ women judicially separated from their husbands and who are re-married ?(Yes/No)

xvii.) Are you a current staff of RBI ?(Yes/No)  If Yes, please specify the PF index number (maximum 10 alphanumeric).

xviii.) Are you an ex-employee of RBI ?(Yes/No) If Yes, experience in years.

xix.) Religion to which you belong: Under this category, various options are stated like Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain, Buddhist, etc. Choose the appropriate option.

xx.) Whether you belong to Religious Minority community ?(Yes/No)

xxi.) Nationality: It is a Mandatory field and most of the time it’s system generated i.e. Indian.

xxii.) Select the office you are applying for: Based on the native state which you belong, you should select the office. Don’t select any other office just because there are more vacancies. If you do so then you will most probably fail the local language proficiency test of that particular state which you have opted for.

xxiii.) State /UT from which the candidate intends to apply for Preliminary Examination.

xxiv.) Centre of Preliminary Examination: Select your preferable centre within the state selected previously.

xxv.) State /UT from which the candidate intends to apply for Main Examination.

xxvi.) Centre of Main Examination: Select your preferable centre within the state selected previously.

xxvii.) Are you proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the state’s falling under the recruiting office ?(Yes/No)

xxviii.) Date of Birth

xxix.) Gender (Male/Female)

xxx.) Marital Status (Unmarried/ Married/ Widow/ Divorced/ Judicially Separated/ Widower)

xxxi.) Father’s name: Enter your Father’s name as per your High School mark sheet.

xxxii.) Mother’s name: Enter your Mother’s name as per your High School mark sheet.

xxxiii.) Address for correspondence: Here enter your address line by line. In case your correspondence is same as your permanent address then kindly tick the box.

Once you finish entering all these 33 details asked, press “Validate your details” button and then press “Save & Next” button.

Step 6: On 4th page you need to answer regarding your education qualification like Graduation/equivalent, Post Graduation & Professional Qualification

i.) Do you have knowledge of word processing on PC ?(Yes/No)

(a) If the answer is Yes, then enter the details of computer knowledge (Maximum 35 character): In case if it was part of your curriculum then you may mention it as “part of graduation curriculum” or “part of PG curriculum”. If you had done any other external course pertaining to computers, then write it so in the box.

ii.) Work Experience details: In case you are presently working and doing a job at the time of application for the exam, then kindly mention your employer name and its other details.

ii.) Languages known: Here you may write the name of language which is known to you. After that you may even select the boxes which says Read, Write & Speak.

Once you finish entering all these details asked, press “Validate your details” button and then press “Save & Next” button.

Step 7: On 5th page you will see a preview of all the details which you had entered before. Kindly tick the box below your photograph that says “I confirm that this is my photograph”.

Scroll down further and press “I Agree” button on the left bottom side. After that press “I confirm this is my signature” and then you press “Final Submit” button.

Step 8: On 6th page we need to upload photograph of your “left thumb impression” & “hand written declaration”

Before uploading your left thumb impression, ensure that its dimension is 140×60(Width x Height) and the file size is between 20KB and 50KB.

In case of hand written declaration, you need to write in your handwriting the following declaration mentioned below using black pen.

“I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”

Before uploading your handwritten declaration, ensure that its dimension is 140×60(Width x Height) and the file size is between 50KB and 100KB.

Once you click “Save & Next”, you will then be taken to the Payment page. Here you need to select your preferred mode of exam fees payment and complete the transaction.
